You look GREAT and that color is a wonderful choice :) (and Kendall's room is super cute)

As for breastfeeding... I'm not gonna lie. It kind of sucks for a while. I'm still doing it and I'm learning to be VERY happy that I stuck with it. For me, it took about 2 months until it felt like it was bearable -- not pain, but just making it work with my life (ha! like i have one?) But I think most of that was b/c i was getting used to being a first time mom, as well as dealing with feeding issues. But now? I'm so glad that I have NO bottles to wash, no coolers/warmers to tote around, no leaving my chair (or bed) whenever and wherever Charlotte decides she's hungry. So if it matters, I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines :) I'm a BF fan, but not a BF nazi. Have fun with it and enjoy the lack of extra dishes and trips to the kitchen.rose-colored glasseshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17981979958640082753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723428366420964135.post-3233559236325992152010-03-24T19:52:52.983-04:002010-03-24T19:52:52.983-04:00I can't believe you did it. You opened yoursel...I can't believe you did it. You opened yourself up to an endless can of worms. You mentioned breastfeeding. You gave your opinion on it. Next to politics and religion this is the most voliatile topic known to man. Ever noticed how on facebook if someone makes a statement about BF, there is a line of comments so long you end up turning your computer off before getting through them all?

So, it's your fault, and here's my two cents.
You might NOT have pain in breastfeeding! You might of course, and it's good I guess that you're aware of that, but I really hope for you that you don't. I never had cracked nips, bleeding, callouses, or any of those horror stories... and I never did Lalalala le-what? And don't tell me it's because I'm wonder woman... mine are the same as yours only about 1,000 times smaller.

My advice to you is to try to relax about it (is that possible?) and try to get as much help in the hospital or from someone who is trained on getting the baby to LATCH correctly. I think that is the biggest key to success. If within the first couple days you can help the baby to do that (make a nipple sandwich was what I was always told!) then many of your nightmare issues won't happen.

I'm not a know-it-all... but we all sound like it when we talk about this issue!!

I just wish you the best Mel!! I'm so happy for you and your family. Live it up with that epidural!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05841672211813113609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723428366420964135.post-68525027338324865032010-03-24T12:42:30.611-04:002010-03-24T12:42:30.611-04:00melissa,

Yes. i will not lie. it's bad. however, you both will settle and the pain subsides. Anna REFUSED a bottle, so i had no choice. Lily, on the other hand, nursed for only 6 months. So, really, your baby may make a lot of decisions for you :) Hang in there...Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15663159476108673959noreply@blogger.com
